Family could pursue compensation over toddler s head injury

A compensation claim may be pursued by the family of a young boy who suffered head injuries due to being knocked off his scooter by a vehicle in a car park.

Thomas-Jack Crawford was hit by a pick-up truck outside a Scotmid shop, reports the Press and Journal.

The four-year-old, who is known as TJ, was taken to a local hospital with injuries to his face and head that were described as serious.

His grandmother Lorraine Crawford said he was "very, very lucky" to be alive after the accident.

She added: "He's been down for a scan and everything has come back clear from that. He's been down for X-rays and has no broken bones or internal injuries."

But Ms Crawford noted it looks as though he was dragged underneath the Nissan vehicle during the accident.

Earlier this year, research by the Road Safety Foundation suggested claims for compensation could be set to continue following car accidents, Herald Scotland reported.
