Bus driver to seek whiplash damages?

A bus driver who sustained whiplash during a road traffic accident may decide to seek a personal injury compensation settlement following the incident.

The Northern Echo reports that a single-decker Arriva bus crashed into a wall in Teesdale yesterday morning (January 6th 2011) after skidding on the road between Eggleston and Romaldkirk.

Depending on the cause of the incident, the driver could decide to pursue a claim for damages for the health problems he sustained, which required medical attention.

The news source goes on to state that there were no passengers on board the vehicle at the time of the collision, but its windscreen was damaged and paramedics and the police both attended the scene.

The driver was taken to the nearby Darlington Memorial Hospital - which is managed by the County Durham & Darlington Foundation Trust and provides care for around 500,000 people - where he received treatment for his neck injury.
