Worker seeks payout after suffering injuries
A man who suffered injuries while at work is seeking compensation, it has emerged.
Michael Gresty was building a pathway around a pond at the Kingsway Business Park in Rochdale when he was struck by a reversing truck.
The 56-year-old suffered damage to his ribs, left shoulder and right foot, among other things, as a result of the incident.
He has been told by doctors that he may need to take pain killers for the rest of his life.
In a recent development, Carillion JM, which is part of the Carillion group - a support services and construction organisation with operations in Europe, Canada, the Middle East, North Africa and Caribbean - pleaded guilty to three health and safety breaches.
Sentencing, Judge Mushtaq Khokhak stated: "Any employee who goes to work has the right to be safe in their working environment."
Mr Gresty is now pursuing a civil claim in a bid to receive money for his suffering.
