Worker secures compensation over hand injury
A woman who suffered injuries while at work has been successful in her claims for compensation.
Shona Foreman was operating at a Tesco store in Dunfermline when her hand became trapped between two metal crates, the Scottish Daily Record reports.
The 35-year-old had to be taken to hospital to have treatment for soft tissue and nerve damage.
She still takes medication to help her deal with the pain the accident has left her with.
Ms Foreman commented: "Although I had a cast on my hand, I was able to return to the store a week after my hand was crushed."
In a new development, she has accepted an out-of-court settlement with Tesco - which operates a network of stores across the UK and is developing in new markets abroad, focussing on central Europe, Asia and the US.
A spokesman for the firm stated that it takes the safety of its workers and customers "very seriously".
