Woman seeks compensation over bus injuries
A woman who says she suffered injuries while getting off a bus is seeking compensation.
Last September, Mary Loughran was on a bus operated by Stagecoach - which runs a fleet of around 7,000 vehicles - when the door closed on her, the North-West Evening Mail reports.
She alleges that her arm became trapped and she sustained bruises.
"I came home, my sister made me a drink and I reported it to the bus depot," she noted.
According to Ms Loughran, the firm said it would get back to her but she did not hear from it for a while.
She then contacted the local paper, which in turn heard from Stagecoach concerning the case.
The business stated that it would liaise with the 90-year-old to process an insurance claim.
Meanwhile, Willie McPhail, depot manager at Stagecoach in Barrow, said he could not discuss the details as it was now in the hands of the cover provider.
