Woman seeks compensation after being injured by car

news image A woman who was injured as a result of a collision with a car is seeking compensation for her suffering.

Pensioner Joyce Howard was struck by a vehicle outside Charing Cross Hospital, which is run by the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the Hounslow Guardian reports.

The 80-year-old subsequently fell and hit her head on a pavement.

As a result of the injuries she sustained in the accident, which occurred in February last year, she had to be treated in hospital and she is now suing the driver involved.

Monica Mirza had been parked on double yellow lines outside the accident and emergency entrance at the medical centre when she began to reverse.

She collided with Ms Howard as she was crossing the road with her friend Gavin Perry.

Ms Mirza has been convicted of driving without due care and attention and was fined £100, as well as receiving a six-month driving ban.
