Woman receives GBP500 compensation after being struck with glass

news image A woman has received GBP500 in personal injury compensation after she was attacked in a nightclub in Edinburgh.

Lisa Golder, a 20-year-old female, had to have eight stitches on a wound on her face after she was struck with a glass during an argument on the dance floor of the Stereo venue - which is located in the Grassmarket region - in the Scottish capital in January of this year.

The city's Sherriff Court has ordered the assailant, 17-year-old hairdresser Ashleigh Drysdale, to pay her victim GBP500 in damages as well as doing 80 hours of community service after she had previously admitted her involvement in the incident.

The confrontation occurred when Ms Golder bumped into a friend of Ms Drysdale in the nightclub, which resulted in the latter deliberately throwing the contents of her drink into Ms Golder's face.

However, the glass container also struck her, which caused the injury.
