Woman may seek compensation over road traffic accident
A woman may seek compensation after suffering injuries in a road traffic accident that occurred last year.
In October, Madeline Boyd was pushing a baby in a pram near a roundabout when a drunk driver ran her over, the Hamilton Advertiser reports.
The 42-year-old sustained a broken femur as a result of the impact.
During a recent hearing at Hamilton Sheriff Court - which is located south-east of Glasgow - motorist James Johnston pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, failing to negotiate a mini-roundabout, driving at excessive speeds and mounting the pavement.
Commenting on the case, Ms Boyd remarked: "I was just about to start a new job as a barmaid shortly before it happened, but obviously I couldn't work after the accident and have been out of work since."
She added that she still has trouble walking and cannot go out without the aid of a stick.
