Woman demands action after tripping and suffering soft tissue injuries
A woman has made a complaint and is demanding action after she suffered injuries as a result of a fall.
Freda Mills was walking her dog in High Woods Country Park - which is located in the grounds of Colchester General hospital - when the incident occurred, the Essex County Standard reports.
The 77-year-old fell on what she described as a "dangerous" path.
Due to the accident, she sustained a black eye, grazed face, split nose and lip, sliced finger, sprained ankle, damaged shoulder and bruised hip and knee.
In addition, she smashed her glasses and says she nearly passed out.
Ms Mills commented: "I couldn't get up. A lot of staff came round and they called an ambulance. A friend of mine came by and took my dog, while I went to accident and emergency."
Philip Kitchener, associate director of facilities and estate management at the hospital - which dealt with more than 65,000 emergency patients in 2008-09 - said if Ms Mills contacts it, the organisation will be happy to investigate further.
