Three men to pursue compensation after service station explosion?
Three men may decide to pursue claims for personal injury compensation settlements after sustaining burns and scarring in an accident in a public place.
The trio were taken to hospital after a gas tank exploded at Pullman Fleet service station in Gloucester on Thursday (December 16th 2010), causing one of them injuries described by a spokesman for Gloucestershire police as "life changing".
Fire experts attending the scene believe the explosion was caused by vapours from a cylinder containing oxyacetylene, which then ignited.
The 52-year-old man who sustained serious burns and scarring was airlifted to nearby Frenchay Hospital in Bristol - which employs more than 9,000 staff and is one of the largest medial institutions on the south west - while his two counterparts were treated for more minor afflictions.
An investigation into the incident - which will be conducted by the Health and Safety Executive - is underway, the BBC reports.
