Slipping and tripping claims to rise in Scotland?
Instances of personal injury claims being made following slipping and tripping accidents in the east of Scotland may increase in the near future.
That is if one report published by STV is anything to go by, as the news source has revealed that NHS Lothian has witnessed a 300 per cent increase in the number of hospital admissions because of ailments such as broken bones sustained due to falls occurring in the ongoing icy conditions.
Jackie Sainsbury - chief operating officer for Acute Services at NHS Lothian, which was established in 2001 as an umbrella organisation for all healthcare services in the region - commented: "I would urge people to take extra care if they are out in the icy weather so they don’t have to pay us a visit."
Meanwhile, similar issues are also seemingly being seen elsewhere north of the border, as an anonymous doctor from Lanarkshire told STV that weather-related injuries are rising there as well.
