Russell Jones & Walker launches scheme to reduce cycle accidents
Cycle accidents are a relatively common occurrence on Britain's roads - but Russell Jones & Walker (RJW) has joined forces with cycling enthusiast Gail Porter in a bid to reduce the number of these incidents through a new scheme.
Ms Porter is fronting RJW's campaign, which involves encouraging people who use bikes to go through training exercises prior to taking to the country's busy urban roads while also calling on drivers of HGVs to be taught cycle awareness techniques.
It is hoped that these measures, along with financial investment in the design of more cycle-friendly routes that can also be taken by motorised vehicles, will bring riders and road-users together in a common cause of avoiding accidents.
RJW's plan has been given the backing of the national cyclists' organisation - the CTC - and aims to lower the average national fatality rate of 28 bikers who die after colliding with HGVs annually.
Paul Kitson, claimant personal injury specialist with RJW, commented that "all adult cyclists across the UK" should be able to access training so they can learn how to use their vehicle safely.
RJW offers legal expertise on a wide range of areas, including personal injury, defamation and clinical negligence.
