Pete Burns to receive compensation for lip injections

news image Singer-songwriter Pete Burns is in line to receive damages over a lip operation which he claims left him "suicidal", the BBC reports.

Burns, who comes from the Wirral village of Port Sunlight, sued Dr Maurizio Viel over a series of injections that the medic administered to him between 2000 and 2004, the BBC reports.

He claims that the injections triggered a range of side effects, including painful swelling and blisters which prevented him from eating, drinking and speaking.

Meanwhile, it is also alleged that the pop star had to undergo significant corrective treatment since receiving the lip enhancements.

According to a letter presented in the high court recently by Burn's legal team, lawyers for the surgeon have admitted liability.

The value of the damages will be decided during a hearing set to take place in March next year.

According to the BBC, Burns is seeking a seven-figure sum from the doctor.
