People 'in fear of injuries due to potholes'
Some people in an area of Coventry, particularly older individuals, are afraid to use the roads in case they suffer injuries as a result of potholes, it has been claimed.
According to Ann Khan of Kingfield Road, the state of the highways in the area is "disgusting", the Coventry Telegraph reports.
The mother-of-three said: "There are a lot of old people living on this road who are too scared to cross the road - if they walk on to a hole they could trip and end up breaking their leg."
Such people may be entitled to claim compensation if they are involved in an incident of this kind.
Ms Khan added that problems with the road will result in a "serious accident" if they are not dealt with soon.
The recent icy weather across the UK has caused road surfaces to worsen. Once water gets into cracks in highways and freezes, it expands, causing damage.
