Pensioner sues after suffering soft tissue damage in fall
A pensioner who sustained injuries to her wrist and leg as a result of a fall is taking legal action in a bid to secure compensation.
Linda Green was walking to the post office in Vauxhall Street, Norwich when she tripped over a raised manhole cover, the Norwich Evening News reports.
The 64-year-old broke her glasses and has been left in discomfort since.
After the incident, she was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital - which is part of a foundation trust that serves a population of around 822,500.
She alleges she is unable to do some basic tasks due to the damage she suffered.
Ms Green remarked: "I was in a lot of pain and am still in a lot of pain. My wrist isn't broken but I'm in a lot of pain with it and can't do the cooking, food shopping or carry anything."
A spokesman for the local authority said the organisation is currently investigating a claim for compensation and so it is unable to comment on the case at present.
