Pensioner may sue over soft tissue injuries
A woman who sustained soft tissue injuries when a vehicle she was in came to a stop abruptly may take legal action.
The individual, who has not been named, was travelling in a bus on Mill Road in Cambridge when it came to a halt, the Cambridge News reports.
It had performed an emergency stop near a swimming pool in the city.
As a result of unexpected cessation of movement, the 80-year-old fell from her seat.
She suffered damage to her knee and had to be treated by paramedics at the scene.
The incident occurred by Parkside leisure complex, which contains three swimming pools, including an eight-lane competition-standard one measuring 25 metres and a teaching and diving pool with a movable floor.
There was some traffic disruption, the police revealed, which went on until just before 14:00 BST.
Cars were affected near Gonville Place where the council-owned facility is based.
