Pedestrian sustains serious head injury at park and ride station
A pedestrian who sustained a serious head injury after he was struck by a dislodged metal pole at a park and ride station in Scotland could opt to seek damages for his ordeal.
According to online news source The Courier, both Fife Council and Stagecoach, the organisations which run the Ferrytoll station, located near Inverkeithing, are helping the police with their enquiries as to how this mysterious incident occurred last Tuesday (December 14th 2010).
It is believed a man in his mid-30s was hit by the pole after it became displaced when it was struck by a car.
His injuries are not thought to be life threatening, the news source continued, but he is still receiving medical treatment at Dunfermline's Queen Margaret Hospital, which is managed by the local health authority NHS Fife.
A statement from both the council and Stagecoach commented: "Our first thoughts are with the injured pedestrian."
