Parents sue over son's ankle injury

news image The parents of a boy who suffered a broken ankle while at school are suing in a bid to secure compensation.

According to a Coventry Telegraph report, the incident occurred last September at a school under the control of Coventry City Council.

It involved a teacher demonstrating a rugby tackle to a group of youngsters.

The publication, which revealed the case remains ongoing, noted that the legal action is one of 13 such law suits brought against the local authority over the last three years.

A spokesman for the organisation - which is headquartered in Council House on Earl Street - remarked: "We take each case on its merits. These are all legal liability claims against the council."

In order for such cases to succeed, claimants must prove that the council has acted in a negligent fashion, he added.

For example, it may not have done something that it should have, or vice versa.
