Parents of boy who suffered head injuries take legal action

news image The parents of a boy who suffered head injuries while playing on a seesaw are suing their local authority.

Reece Geisler fell off the equipment last month and had to be rushed to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary before being transferred to Leeds General Infirmary, the Huddersfield Examiner reports.

The 12-year-old had landed on the concrete edging of a rubber-matted site.

Now, his mother and father are taking legal action against Kirklees Council, which is currently led by councillor Mehboob Khan.

Debbie Geisler stated: "It is not about the money at all. We just want them to acknowledge this accident happened and because it happened, it is not safe."

Until something is changed at the playground, the seesaw needs to be removed to prevent similar accidents occurring in future, the mother added.

Meanwhile, responding to a request for comment, a Kirklees Council spokesman said he was unable to divulge any information as the case remains ongoing.
