Newlyweds seek compensation over cruise sickness
A couple who recently tied the knot are seeking compensation over a sickness that affected them while they were on their honeymoon.
Margaret and Russell Moore set out on a cruise to the Canary Islands after their wedding ceremony, the Norfolk Eastern Daily Press reports.
Two days into the vacation, Mr Moore was taken ill after contracting a bug.
His wife remarked: "It was awful. He had bad stomach cramps and a temperature. A doctor had to come and give him an injection and we were confined to our room for 48 hours."
She has become a focal point for other passengers seeking compensation from Fred Olsen - a firm with roots tracing back to 1848.
A spokesman for the company said that record numbers of people were suffering from the winter vomiting virus at the time and it was therefore understandable that cruise ships would have some passengers onboard carrying it.
