New compensation hope for workers exposed to asbestos
New hope has emerged for ex-employees at a firm who were exposed to asbestos.
According to a report in the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph, two more insurers of the company have been tracked down.
People with asbestosis who worked at the now defunct Nene Valley Coachworks, which is located in Rushen, have been urged to come forward to make their case for compensation.
It is alleged that the firm was involved in the cutting of large sheets of asbestos and that insufficient protection was provided for workers.
Those who come into contact with fibres from the hazardous insulating material are at risk of developing a number of medical complications.
As well as asbestosis, they can suffer from mesothelioma and pleural plaques.
The latter has been in the news recently as a result of the government's decision not to overturn a previous ruling by the Law Lords which means those with the form of lung scarring cannot seek compensation.
