Motorcyclist seeks compensation from Geldof over knee injuries
A man who sustained damage to his leg in a motorcycling accident is seeking compensation from singer and charity fundraiser Bob Geldof.
In 2007, Andrew Quinn was riding his bike when he collided with the celebrity, who was driving a silver Lexus.
As a result of the incident, which occurred in the south-west of London, the 42-year-old was left with a shattered knee.
He claims he was travelling at 25 mph behind Geldof when the Live Aid organiser suddenly performed a U-turn in front of him.
Mr Quinn stated: "I hit the brakes but there was no way I could stop. I flew through the air thinking 'this is going to hurt'. It was agony, despite full protective gear."
Responding to the news that he is subject to a claim, Geldof said he was not aware.
The songwriter - who was involved in the creation of hits such as I Don't Like Mondays and Do They Know It's Christmas? - added that he thought the issue had been dealt with by his insurers.
