Mother and son seek compensation over soft tissue injuries
A mother and son from the north-west of England are pursuing compensation after they suffered soft tissue injuries.
Lisa Walker and her youngster Louis, who is 12 years old, were walking across a car park recently when they passed under a housing development, the Chester Chronicle reports.
The pair were nearly hit on the head by falling concrete and Louis was struck on the leg and foot.
He is still walking with a limp and is on pain killers.
Meanwhile, his mum sustained damage to her ankle and both she and Louis had to be taken by ambulance to the Countess of Chester Hospital - which is located on the outskirts of the city and houses around 580 beds.
The accident is said to have occurred when a crane was picking up a load from the fourth floor of a building and it became loose.
Ms Walker remarked: "A couple of inches the other way and I don't like to think about it. If it had hit us on the head, God knows what would have happened."
Meanwhile, Berwyn Evans, managing director of Watkin Jones Homes, said a full investigation is to take place.
