Men more likely to claim compensation over accidents abroad?

news image Male holidaymakers may be more likely to make claims for compensation over accidents abroad.

According to new research from sunshine.co.uk, men are more inclined than women to suffer some sort of mishap while overseas.

It found that one in three such people get into difficulties when they are on vacation, making them three times more accident prone than their female counterparts.

Among the incidents that happen to men on holiday are poolside slips, which account for some of the injuries.

Also, the firm noted that food poisoning is another common problem for those seeking a rest in the sun.

"[Women] keep a level head and consciously try to avoid accidents and illness" when they are away, the website's spokesman Chris Brown said.

As well as accidents and injury, UK tourists may be affected by the volcano that is erupting in Iceland and has been intermittently disrupting air transport in various locations around Europe.
