Man takes legal action over bus injuries
A man from Sunderland is to take legal action over an incident on a bus that left his child and partner injured.
Gary Mason told the Sunderland Echo he believed the number 78 Go North East bus "was doing about 60 mph" when it reached a roundabout on the way to Shiney Row, at which point his girlfriend Claire and daughter Chloe, 13 months, fell to the floor.
Claire suffered bruises to her ribs and hip as well as aural bleeding as a result of the incident, while Chloe received a minor knock to the head.
A spokesperson for Go North East, which has a fleet of more than 650 buses, told the newspaper the company was prepared to visit Mr Mason to discuss the concerns he has raised.
"However, now that he has informed us he has contacted his solicitor then we are unable to do anything other than follow the legal process," she remarked.
