Man sues over cycling accident involving pothole
A man who suffered injuries in a cycling accident is taking legal action against a local authority.
Luke Reeman was travelling to the shops from his home in Exeter when he struck a pothole on the A377, the Express & Echo reports.
His light had picked out the hole in the road but he was unable to swerve to avoid it, he claims.
As a result, the 28-year-old fell off his bike and sustained broken bones in his left wrist and arm.
He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital run by the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, which provides services to a population of around 350,000.
Mr Reeman is taking legal action against Devon County Council over the injuries he endured.
He commented: "The accident has left me with nerve damage which means I cannot feel my palm properly," adding that he feels "upset and angry" that he has been left with permanent problems.
