Man seeks further compensation after suffering burns and scarring

news image A man who has been granted GBP25,000 in personal injury compensation after he suffered burns and scarring is planning to seek more damages.

Arjuna Rabindranath was dressed as a sheep after attending a football match in Edinburgh in October 2009 when a fellow supporter set his costume alight on a train between Aberdeen and the capital - which are around 90 miles apart - the Press and Journal reports.

Peter Wallace, a 24-year-old millionaire farmer, did not go to jail after the incident because he agreed to pay Mr Radindranath GBP25,000 in damages, but the victim told the news publication he feels that he has "not seen justice or adequate compensation" for his ordeal.

Mr Rabindranath suffered second and third degree burns in the incident, but there was concern at the time that he may not survive due to the extent of his injuries.

Mr Wallace reportedly told police at the scene that he was "just mucking about" and did not mean to cause harm to the former student.
