Man seeks compensation over broken bones suffered in road accident
A man who suffered broken bones in a road collision is seeking compensation.
Andrew Hiom was knocked off his scooter by a car being driven by a worker at a Morrisons store.
The 43-year-old sustained serious damage to his leg as a result of the incident and had to spend 49 days in hospital.
He claims that because of his injuries, he has been unable to work and has experienced a loss of income.
Meanwhile, his legal team suggest that the episode led to Mr Hiom developing a depressive disorder.
He is still using crutches as a result of the crash and is looking to obtain damages from Morrisons.
The firm - which describes itself as the UK's fourth largest food retailer and has 403 stores - has admitted liability but is disputing the claim amount.
A hearing involving the two parties is due to take place and it is expected to last for three days.
