Man seeks compensation over accident abroad
A man who was the victim of an accident abroad is seeking compensation for his suffering.
Ronnie Dunbar was travelling on a cruise liner run by Ocean Village five years ago when the incident occurred.
He was on a holiday with his wife celebrating his 50th birthday and the vessel was off the coast of Belize when he sustained serious burns after getting off a sun lounger.
Commenting on the case, he said: "I put my feet down and they got stuck and started to sizzle. I wrenched them up and the skin was all off. It was agony. It has ruined my life."
He added that the experience was unpleasant and turned a dream holiday into one from hell.
Mr Dunbar is now wheelchair-bound because the wounds on his feet became infected and he had to have his left leg amputated.
Ocean Village - which entered the market in 2003 and aims its services towards people aged 30 to 50 - denies liability and the legal battle remains ongoing.
