Man secures compensation for car crash
A man who sustained physical and psychological injuries as a result of a car crash five years ago has been awarded compensation.
Conrad Goss had a collision with fellow motorist Maria Barrett in 2004 and suffered damage to his neck, back, shoulder, left wrist and hand, the North Devon Journal reports.
The company director said he had a lack of movement and experienced aching due to the impact.
He also put in a claim for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which is a condition caused by very frightening or distressing events, such as road accidents.
According to figures cited by the NHS, around 30 per cent of people who experience traumatic episodes develop the disorder.
Recently, Mr Goss received £4,900 for his injuries, although the sum was reduced to £2,450 because joint liability was agreed.
The PTSD suffered by the claimant was said to have been exacerbated by his difficult childhood.
