Man secures compensation after road accident

news image A man who was injured when he was struck by a car has been awarded £14,500 for his suffering.

Grant McQueen was hit by a vehicle being driven by waitress Kerry Blythe while he was on a night out, the Scottish Daily Record reports.

She was subsequently fined for careless driving over the accident.

Mr McQueen, who is 25 years old, sustained head injuries as a result of the impact and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

Since then, he has gone on to make a full recovery.

In a new development, he has been awarded money in an out-of-court settlement approved at the Court of Session in Edinburgh - which is Scotland's supreme civil court and is located in Parliament House.

When contacted, Mr McQueen's lawyer confirmed that a deal had been reached.

However, he went on to state: "The details are entirely confidential."
