Man pursues compensation over crash injuries

news image A man who suffered injuries as a result of a car accident is seeking compensation.

In July 2008, Jevgenijs Samohins was involved in a collision on the A141 between March and Chatteris, Fenland Today reports.

During a previous hearing, another motorist involved in the incident, Dennis Ellingham, was prosecuted for travelling in excess of the speed limit.

He had been driving a skip lorry for his employer Carcarc Environmental Services - a firm established over two decades ago which specialises in waste management.

Mr Samohins alleges that Mr Ellingham allowed his vehicle to cross on to the wrong side of the road, causing him to have to take evasive action.

However, he was unable to avoid the lorry and a collision occurred, causing Mr Samohins and his passengers to suffer injuries.

Mr Ellingham and Carcarc - through their insurer, Chaucer Insurance - have refused to accept liability and the case remains ongoing.
