Man 'not ruling out' compensation action against Tesco for back injury

news image A man who sustained a back injury during an instance of slipping and tripping outside a supermarket in the north of England is considering the possibility of making a claim for personal injury compensation.

According to the Darlington and Stockton Times, Robert Ballard, who is 57 years old, hurt himself as he fled a fire alarm at the Catterick Garrison branch of Tesco - a chain with more than 2,000 stores nationwide - along with fellow shoppers and slipped on ice on the shop's car park.

The news source continues to say that as a result of his fall Mr Ballard aggravated existing back injuries and now requires crutches and increased levels of morphine following the incident, which occurred earlier this month.

"I'm unhappy as we were trying to get out due to the fire alarm … I've taken it up with Tesco's head office and I could sue," he explained.
