Man may seek compensation over accident at work
A man may seek compensation for his suffering after he was hurt while conducting his duties at work.
Jason Lunnon sustained a back injury and damage to his ribs after a wall fell on him at a construction site. He also experienced problems with his right hand.
The 41-year-old from Barnet was on the first floor of a partially-constructed block of flats when concrete blocks from two floors above him were blown over by the wind.
They had not been secured properly after being built the previous day.
According to a subsequent investigation, the contractor involved had failed to plan property and had not managed the work on site effectively.
"There was a comprehensive failure to implement key elements of the construction phase plan," said Paul Hems from the Health and Safety Executive - which serves to protect people from the risks that arise as a result of workplace activities.
