Man injured in road accident takes legal action

news image A man who suffered damage to his leg in a road accident is taking legal action in a bid to secure compensation.

In June 2006, Nicholas Goad was riding his motorbike when he collided with a tractor, the Ely Standard reports.

As a result of the incident, the 41-year-old sustained a fracture to his right leg.

He claims that the injury has left him in pain and he could be at risk of an infection of the bone called osteomyelitis, a condition that can usually be treated using antibiotics or anti-fungal medicines.

However, in more serious cases, surgery may be required to remove sections of diseased bone and tissue.

Mr Goad is looking to get money from the insurers of the tractor driver and from WI Butcher and Sons, both of whom deny liability for the accident.

During a recent High Court hearing, Judge Richard Seymour reserved his decision and will give a ruling at a later date.
