Man awarded compensation over injuries suffered in crash
A man who sustained injuries in a road accident has been awarded compensation.
Gordon Scott suffered damage to his head when the lorry he was driving hit the underside of a bridge in Crofton, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
The 56-year-old argued that he had been given insufficient information by his employers DHL concerning the height of the vehicle.
Recently, it was agreed that the firm - which is an international express and logistics company with roots tracing back nearly 40 years - should issue a six-figure sum to Mr Scott.
The grandfather-of-five said he is trying to stay positive but he will not work again.
Meanwhile, his legal representative claimed that, while no settlement can ever fully compensate him for what happened, it will help him enjoy a better quality of life.
She added that there are duties on employers to ensure they do all they can to make sure that drivers are reasonably safe while at work.
