Girl to get compensation over dog bite injuries
A girl who suffered injuries after being bitten by a dog will receive compensation.
In April last year, Jessica White was in an allotment in Armthorpe - which is situated on the edge of Doncaster, South Yorkshire - when the animal attacked her, local paper the Star reports.
The eight-year-old sustained cuts and had to spend two days in hospital as a result of the incident.
She required surgery to repair the skin torn by the St Bernard-Rottweiler crossbreed after it bit her arm.
At the time of the attack, the dog was being walked along with four others by owner Angela Joanne Murray.
In a new development, a judge at a crown court hearing ruled that Jessica should be awarded a sum of £2,000 for the damage she sustained.
After the verdict has been given, her mother, Dionne, remarked: "My daughter has been left scarred for life."
