Girl awarded payout after suffering injury at water park
A girl who suffered concussion when she crashed into a lifeguard at a water park has been awarded compensation.
Meredith Glennon collided with the attendant on a slide at Sandcastle Water Park, which is located on the South Beach in the Lancastrian coastal town of Blackpool.
The worker had believed the ride had shut down for the day, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Health and safety rules at the park state that staff members must not walk on the rides until all the guests have left the building.
In a recent development, the 13-year-old school girl was awarded an undisclosed sum during a hearing at the Civil Justice Centre.
Commenting on the case, her father, Tony, said: "Meredith had concussion for around four of five days and it was some time before she was fully active again."
Meanwhile, managing director of Sandcastle Water Park John Child apologised for the incident.
