Doncaster family affected by illness abroad seek compensation

news image A family from Doncaster who were affected by illness abroad are taking legal action against the tour operator involved.

Nigel Brook and other members of his family were staying at a hotel on the Costa del Sol in 2008, South Yorkshire paper the Star reports.

They were located in Torremolinos, which is around seven miles west of Malaga airport and is popular among tourists.

Some of the family claim to still be suffering the effects of a stomach bug they contracted while there.

Mr Brook had to stay in his hotel room for a number of days during the break, while others experienced such severe symptoms they had to be hospitalised.

He said: "I had to stay in our room with the curtains closed for four-and-a-half days having nothing but water to keep me hydrated and even that came up straightaway."

After getting back from the holiday, he had to take a week off work and he still has irritable bowel syndrome.
