Coventry families join compensation bid over sickness

news image A number of people from Coventry are among those taking legal action over sickness that was suffered at a hotel in the Dominican Republic.

Tourists who stayed at the four-star Bahia Principe resort between May and August 2007 developed vomiting and diarrhoea due to what they claim were poor hygiene conditions.

According to the Coventry Telegraph, four families from the city were among those involved and they want to receive money for their suffering.

The news source notes that guests reported seeing fleets of ambulances taking holidaymakers to hospital, while birds and mice were spotted in the dining area.

In addition, a number of couples suggested that there was an incident in which a sewage pipe spilt waste into the swimming pool, which was skimmed out by staff with nets.

The Coventry families, along with others from around the country, are suing First Choice, which is registered with the Association of British Travel Agents.
