Brother to seek compensation over train accident
A boy whose brother was involved in a train accident on a level crossing is seeking compensation.
Earlier this year, Robert Milloy was walking home for lunch in Gatehead, near Kilmarnock - which is situated Scotland's central belt on the west coast - when he was struck by a train, Scotland on Sunday reports.
He had stepped past a partial barrier and on to the track near his home.
As a result of the impact, the 18-year-old was thrown 60 feet and suffered fatal injuries.
Now, his younger sibling, Connor, is suing Network Rail in a bid to secure a payout.
Commenting on the case, his father, Robert, said: "We can't bring [him] back. But the next best thing we can do is find ways of making these crossings safer. And the only way we can do that is through the courts."
Meanwhile, the family's lawyer revealed that they are in the process of advancing a claim against the infrastructure firm through the courts.
