Broken bones may lead to compensation claimBroken bones suffered in an accident at work could lead to a driver launching a compensation claim.
Lee Waters sustained fractures to his pelvis and wrist in an incident at premises owned by Mole Valley Feed Solutions in Wiltshire, in July last year.
At the time of this incident, Mr Waters was removing the cover of a delivery of grain he was taking to the firms depot in Calne when he fell from the top of his vehicle to the concrete floor below.
An investigation by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) established that Mole Valley had failed to put the correct safety measures in place to make sure the cover could be taken off without risk.
Therefore, Mr Waters - who was off work for 11 weeks after the accident - may decide to take legal action on the grounds of the company's negligence.
Ian Whittles of the HSE observed: "Simple measures could have been taken such as providing a long-handled crank handle to operate the sheet from the ground."
