Accident at work could lead to compensation
A serious hand injury sustained during an accident at work could lead to a man pursuing a claim for damages.
Daniel Winters lost three fingers on his right hand during an incident while he operated a bubble wrap making machine at a factory managed by Sansetsu - a firm established in 1978 - in Milton Keynes in May 2011.
Mr Winters was cleaning debris away when his arm got caught in the rotating parts of the equipment and then became trapped in between two of its rollers.
The 29-year-old has been able to return to work after recovering from his injuries, but now has to fulfil a different role within the organisation.
An investigation by the Health and Safety Executive established that no cover was in place over this dangerous section of the machine and Karl Howes of the body stated: "All machines should be guarded to prevent human contact with the dangerous parts."
