Pensioners may sue over soft tissue injuries
A number of pensioners who suffered soft tissue injuries in accidents involving mobility scooters may take legal action in a bid to secure compensation.
Over recent weeks, there have been a series of incidents in which older people have fallen over in such devices in Musselburgh, which is located on the east coast of Scotland on the banks of the Firth of Forth, the Deadline Press & Picture Agency reports.
One of those involved was Broderick Robertson.
The 86-year-old had stopped to let a woman pass him and when he moved off, his scooter's wheels fell into a hole which had been dug in the pavement.
He had to be taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment for cuts and bruises.
Meanwhile, another man, who has not been named, sustained similar damage in an accident in the town's Pinkie Road.
Like Mr Robertson, he was also using a mobility aid and had to be taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to receive medical attention.
