Pensioner seeks compensation after alleged fall
A pensioner from Grimsby is seeking a payout after an alleged fall, it has been revealed.
Maureen Leyland claims a bus she was on moved off before she had sat down, causing her to lose her footing and suffer an injured back and black eye, the Grimsby Evening Telegraph reports.
The 74-year-old is taking legal action against Stagecoach - a bus service operator with a fleet of around 7,000 vehicles in the UK.
Ms Leyland said: "The driver slammed the brakes on for some reason and I went flying. I ended up on the floor under the front seat."
She went on to state that she now finds it difficult to have a bath due to the pain in her back, adding: "I definitely think I deserve some sort of compensation."
Meanwhile, husband Roy has appealed for any witnesses to the accident, which took place earlier this month.
Stagecoach declined to comment on the case.
