Illness abroad results in compensation claim

A couple is looking to get compensation from a holiday firm after they suffered illness abroad.

Nigel Brook and Diana Nettleton travelled to the Beach Club Torremolinos Hotel in Spain for two weeks and spent much of their time stuck in their room due to sickness, Doncaster Today reports.

Their resort was based on the Costa del Sol, which is located in the south of the country on the Malaga province.

According to the pair, they are still experiencing health problems as a result of their trip and Mr Brook said he has irritable bowel syndrome.

He suggested there were a number of hygiene problems that were evident, including the fact hotel toilets were blocked, food was left out and faeces was left on the floor in reception.

Mr Brook added: "We noticed that there wasn't any anti-bacterial wipes to wipe your hands in the restaurant on the first day and there were birds flying around in there too."
