Grandmother injured in fall may seek compensation

news image A grandmother from Gloucester may sue her local council after she suffered injuries in a fall.

Sue Cross claims she tripped over a large "lump" in the road in the town's Market Parade during a shopping trip.

The 54-year-old alleges she hurt both knees as a result of the incident and still suffers from severe pain, the Gloucestershire Echo reports.

She said: "I spoke to a solicitor who thought I had a good chance of being able to claim. I'm just worried about the effect this may have on my movement when I'm older.

"I'm not a young lady and my legs are going to get bad as I grow old. I don't need anything like this making them worse."

Ms Cross added that, while she tends to look where she's going when she crosses the road, she does not expect to have to look at her feet all of the time.

Meanwhile, Nick Peters, manager at Gloucestershire Highways - which is headquartered in Barnwood - said that the organisation does not yet have a record of being contacted by Ms Cross.
