Cyclist awarded payout after suffering injuries
A cyclist who sustained injuries after travelling over a sunken drain in Edinburgh has been awarded compensation.
Iain Anderson was cycling through the city's Holyrood Park near Arthur's Seat when the accident happened, the BBC reports.
According to a witness, he went over the handlebars as the bike hit something solid and stopped abruptly.
Despite wearing a helmet, the 42-year-old suffered a smashed cheekbone which has left him with facial numbness and difficulty chewing.
He sued the government agency Historic Scotland, saying the cycle path he was riding along was poorly maintained.
Recently, a judge ruled that the organisation was to blame for failing to construct the path properly.
An Historic Scotland spokeswoman said: "This was an unfortunate incident and we hope Mr Anderson is recovering well."
She added: "This is the first incident recorded in this area of the park and we are addressing the issue associated with this one."
No changes needed. The service Claims Direct provide is very good.
