Compensation may be sought over cycling accident

news image Compensation may be sought by a man who was injured in a cycling accident.

The 38-year-old, who has not been named, is believed to have stopped to help a driver remove a large branch from a tractor-driven hedge trimmer.

It is suggested that as he went to push off on his bike, he somehow got his left foot caught in the blades of the trimmer.

Because of this, he sustained extensive damage to the limb and had to be taken to a medical centre for treatment.

He was rushed to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, which provided emergency and planned treatments for more than 600,000 people in the surrounding area last year.

West Mercia Police are calling for individuals who may have seen the event to come forward.

Police Constable Andrea Ashworth stated: "We have already spoken to a number of people, most of whom witnessed the aftermath of the incident."
