A Bury roofer has appeared in court again for conducting unsafe work practices on a roof in Manchester.
Tom Massey, who trades under the company name Massey Roofing, was photographed with two other men sitting on the ridge of a building without wearing any safety equipment.
The incident, which happened in October 2012, took place at a warehouse in Trafford Park, Manchester and came after a similar occurrence just under six years ago when Mr Massey was prosecuted after a worker was paralysed following a fall from a warehouse roof.
Magistrates at a court in Sale heard the man and his employees were not following safe working practices and showed a wanton disregard for health and safety.
Mr Massey pleaded guilty to two health and safety breaches and was ordered to carry out 100 hours of community service in the next 12 months and to pay £2,000 in prosecution costs.
HSE inspector Matt Greenly said:"It is shocking that Mr Massey showed such a reckless attitude to safety at the furniture warehouse in Trafford Park, especially as one of his employees was paralysed in a fall in a previous incident."
